Anti-theft Adhesive Labels
Anti-theft adhesive labels integrate a radio-frequency or acousto-magnetic circuit that triggers security arch alarms, protecting the product without altering its presentation.
- Technologies: RF 8.2 MHz, AM 58 kHz, RFID UHF
- Format: flat adhesive label (not bulky like hard tags)
- Deactivation: contact at checkout or automatic at POS
- Integrable with existing product labelling

- Dual labels: anti-theft + barcode in a single piece

Anti-theft adhesive labels: EAS technology for retail
Anti-theft adhesive labels are part of EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) systems used in shops to deter and detect theft. Each label contains a resonant element — an aluminium coil for RF systems (radio frequency at 8.2 MHz) or a metallic alloy strip for AM (acousto-magnetic) systems — that responds to the electromagnetic field generated by the door arches.
When a product is legitimately sold, the cashier deactivates the label by passing it over a deactivator integrated at the checkout. If the product has not been deactivated, the label triggers the alarm when crossing the security arch.
Formats and applications
Anti-theft adhesive labels come in square (40x40 mm or 50x50 mm), rectangular or circular format, with permanent adhesive that sticks to the packaging, book back covers or product containers. Their thickness is minimal (less than 1 mm), making them invisible to consumers and not interfering with the aesthetics of the packaging.
The price of anti-theft adhesive labels varies by technology (RF or AM), format and purchase volume. Typical retail runs are counted in thousands or tens of thousands of units, reducing unit cost.
