Adhesive label reels: industrial format
Adhesive label reels are the preferred supply format in industrial environments where labelling speed is critical. Each reel contains from hundreds to several thousand die-cut labels on a continuous liner, wound on cardboard cores of 40 or 76 mm inner diameter depending on the target machine.
The outer diameter of the reel, the rewinding direction (inside or outside) and the gap between labels are configured to the specifications of the customer's automatic applicator. This level of adaptation ensures jam-free feeding and precise registration label by label.
Materials and applications
Reel adhesive labels are manufactured in the same materials as sheet labels — paper, polypropylene, polyester, vinyl, aluminium — but optimised for the high-speed rewinding and dispensing process. Main applications include labelling of bottles, cans, boxes and trays on food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, chemical and logistics lines.
Printing is done by flexography (long runs), digital printing (short runs and variable data) or combining both techniques in the same process (hybrid printing).
