Stainless steel adhesive labels: maximum resistance in identification
Stainless steel is the most resistant material available for industrial labelling. Stainless steel adhesive labels withstand highly corrosive environments — acids, brines, pressurised steam — where aluminium and plastic degrade. Their operating temperature range extends from −200°C to over 500°C, making them suitable for boilers, industrial ovens, cryogenic installations and intensive sterilisation processes.
Manufactured in AISI 304 or AISI 316L steel sheets with thicknesses of 0.05 to 0.3 mm — thin enough to behave as a flexible label but with the mechanical properties of steel. Information is engraved by laser, chemical etching or protected sublimation printing, resulting in permanent marks impossible to alter without destroying the label.
Applications and sectors
Food industry (sanitary regulation compliance), pharmaceutical (cleanrooms and autoclaves), petrochemical (hydrocarbon and acid exposure), marine (saline environment) and aerospace (extreme thermal cycles) are the sectors demanding this type of identification. Alumigraf produces stainless steel labels with high-temperature structural adhesive. Describe your application and we will advise on the most appropriate steel grade and finish.
