Metal plates for doors: identification and protection in one element
A metal plate for a door can serve two simultaneous functions: identifying the space (name, number, department, pictogram) and protecting the most exposed part of the door from knocks, pushes and footwear marks. Metal door plates are installed at the bottom (kick plate), the middle (push plate) or next to the handle, depending on use and expected traffic.
Aluminium door plates are particularly popular in hospitals, care homes, hotels and educational centres, where doors receive intensive use and signage must withstand frequent cleaning with disinfectant products.
Door protection plate: kick plates and push plates
Door protection plates protect the leaf from impacts by trolleys, stretchers, wheelchairs and footwear. Metal door plates are manufactured in anodised aluminium or stainless steel, with thicknesses of 0.8 to 1.5 mm and heights of 150 to 400 mm. Fixing can be adhesive (no perforations in the door) or mechanical (countersunk screws for a flush finish).
Door plates can also incorporate laser engraving with the centre's logo, room number or usage instructions (push/pull), integrating signage and protection in a single piece.
Personalised door plate
The aluminium door plate is personalised with engraving, UV printing or screen-printing. The most popular finishes are silver anodised, black anodised, brushed and white lacquered. Pieces are cut to the exact door dimensions and delivered with the chosen fixing system, ready to install.
