Aluminium sheet cutting: technologies and precision

Aluminium sheet cutting is performed by laser (±0.1 mm precision, clean burr-free edges), CNC milling (ideal for complex contours and thick pieces) or guillotine (straight cuts at high speed for large batches). Custom-cut aluminium sheet can include holes, slots, chamfers and custom silhouette shapes in a single operation, reducing subsequent processes.

Custom aluminium sheets are supplied in thicknesses from 0.3 mm (flexible labels) to 10 mm or more (structural plates), in any standard alloy (1050, 5005, 5754, 6082) according to the mechanical and corrosion resistance requirements of the project. Cut-to-size aluminium is available from a single piece.

Aluminium sheet bending and forming

Aluminium sheet bending allows L, U, Z or special profiles to be created using a CNC press brake with angle and length control. Bent aluminium plates are used as panel frames, protective covers, cable trays, corner guards and enclosures for electronic equipment.

The minimum bending radius depends on the thickness and alloy: soft series (1050, 5005) accept tighter radii than hard series (6082, 7075). A well-executed bend produces no cracks or marks on the surface, preserving the original sheet finish.

Available finishes

Custom aluminium plates can receive finishes such as colour anodising, RAL lacquering, brushing, mirror polishing, shot blasting or sublimation coating. Cutting + bending + engraving + surface finishing processes can also be combined in a single manufacturing order, simplifying supplier management.
