Brass is a copper-zinc alloy that has been used for centuries in identification plates, facade signs and decorative elements. Its natural golden tone, which can range from light yellow to copper depending on the zinc proportion, adds distinction to any surface. Brass plates are easily machined, accept mechanical, chemical and laser engraving, and can receive finishes such as mirror polish, satin or aged.
Brass plates withstand outdoor conditions well when given a protective lacquer coating. Without protection, they develop a greenish patina (verdigris) that some clients deliberately seek for its antique aesthetic effect. Indoors, they retain their original shine for years with minimal maintenance.
Brass sheets and plates: formats and thicknesses
Brass sheets are available in thicknesses from 0.3 mm (thin sheets for labels and overlays) to 3 mm or more for large-format plates and structural applications. Brass sheets can be cut to size by guillotine, laser or CNC milling, adapting to rectangular, circular or custom silhouette geometries.
The price of brass sheets depends primarily on thickness, dimensions and alloy type (CuZn37, CuZn30 or lead-free brass for sanitary applications). The cost of a finished brass plate also includes cutting, engraving and surface finishing processes.

Brass plates are used in professional office signage (solicitors, notaries, medical practices), historic building identification, marine and industrial machinery labelling, and as ornamental elements in quality furniture and joinery.
