Stainless steel sheets for kitchens are used as wall cladding between the worktop and upper cabinets (splash zone or backsplash) and as protection behind hobs, ovens and fryers. AISI 304 steel — the most widely used in food environments — does not absorb odours, resists food acids and withstands intensive cleaning with industrial degreasers without deteriorating.
Stainless steel sheets for kitchens are supplied in thicknesses of 0.5 to 1.5 mm and are cut to the exact dimensions of the space to be covered. Joints are minimised through perimeter bends and overlaps that prevent dirt accumulation.
